spring has arrived with butterflies

we visited the Indianapolis White River Gardens this
weekend to watch the butterflies hatch and fly freely inside the conservatory.

there was a plexiglass box filled with row after row of butterfly cocoons....
of all types and sizes. i was mesmerized by the gold iridescent cocoons.
i've never seen anything like these before. rather klimtish, yes?



as they hatched, they rested on top of shavings until the next release.
it was so spring-like to be among so many beautiful wings and flowers!
